Elias is often out and about, but he's always glad to hear out anyone who needs to speak with him. Visit him in his home within the lighthouse, catch him out in the bustling city streets, or leave him a letter! He'll get back to you as soon as he can.

The sight makes his heart twist in his chest, and he pats Neil's shoulder, soft and affectionate. "Well, since my robe is a bit occupied, I'll need just a moment to get dressed. Behave yourself!"

"When do I not?" He tips his head backwards to smile at Elias. "See you shortly."

Elias sees himself back upstairs, even as reluctant as he is to depart. He returns only a few short minutes later, having pulled on the bare minimum of his preferred clothing - he's even left his old, weathered coat in his haste.

"Alright, now, barring incident, you should have my full, undivided attention," Elias jokes, gladly rejoining him. "And, ah. Sorry again for all the books, I know working around them isn't exactly easy without sending a stack or two to the floor. I'm in the middle of a project!"

"Oh, pff." Neil waves it off, setting the teacups on the table. "It's nothing I'm not used to. You know I'm not all that organized, and Jon was the same way when he was in the middle of things..."

"I don't think I've ever met an academic sort that was both productive and organized. I think it's not possible, honestly," Elias half-jokes, brushing easily past the mention of Jon as he joins Neil at the table.

"It's true," Neil says, chuckling. "I try to keep it a little tidier, but projects can get the better of me." He takes a slow sip of tea, then lets out a contented sigh. "...This is nice. I think I needed this."

[arcanegrasp]

"I'm glad I was able to offer you as much," Elias hums, having taken a sip of his own. Absolutely perfect, as it'd always been. "...If you'd like, you're welcome to stay the night. I'll be making dinner in a while, and I wouldn't want to send you back to an empty bed..."

Neil gives him a worried look. "...Are you sure?"

"I wouldn't have offered if I wasn't!" Elias assures him.

"I don't want to impose, and this was already a bit inadvisable, but..." Neil's gaze drifts downward to his half-empty teacup.

[arcanegrasp]

Elias lets his better judgement get the boot, and softly lifts the teapot, pouring his cup full once more. "No imposition at all. Should you want to, the space is yours."

"...I'd like that."

THAT'S A WRAP, BESTIE!!!

Elias smiles, all warm and fond, and tops off his own teacup as well. This is a horrible, horrible idea - but, by the goddesses, he's making it. Maybe there's no chance of reconciliation, maybe he's reading too far into something that Neil already feels is a mistake... but who would he be not to try?

"Excellent. I'm happy to have you, then."
